Markus Flok

Markus Flok is the first person to remix "Today's The Day" using the "Remix It" album. If anyone else wants to remix the song, you'll find all you need on that album. For now enjoy his take on the song.

Kerrin Connolly

This cover was done by Kerrin Connolly who is making a name for herself on YouTube & reminds me of JoCo at times.  After you listen to her cover I suggest checking out some of her other songs.  I'll leave one of my favorites embedded below, but I'll also leave links for you to explore.

Professor Shyguy

The last cover was done using Minecraft.  It was the first cover done using a videogame.  So when I saw Professor Shyguy's Kickstarter I thought, "It's time to get the first cover done using a classic videogame system!"  Please check out his links below for more chiptune goodness.

Jachael123

When I look for people to cover this song, the #1 thing I look for is someone who can do something DIFFERENT.  This certainly does that.  Up to this point, nobody had done a cover of "Today's The Day" using a videogame as their instrument of choice.  Enjoy this note block version of the song done by YouTuber Jachael123, and then check out his channel & other links below.

Ariel Delgado

Feel like doing a remix of "Today's The Day"?  Well here's your chance.  I recently got Ariel Delgado to create a karaoke version of the song.  He was also nice enough to send me each track he used to recreate the music.  I've included all those tracks on this album so you can easily down & remix the song yourself.  I even threw in the original Inverse T. Clown raw vocal track.  At some point I think Dave is going to make a .KFN file of Ariel's track.  So you can sing "Today's The Day" at your favorite karaoke bar!

Bamboozle

After searching through Kickstarter to find another band to cover "Today's The Day" I found a talented band that I thought could give the song a new twist.  So sit back & get transported to a simpler time as Bamboozle rocks your favorite song.  Afterwards I've embedded another one of their performances you can listen to.  I've also provided links to their website & social media.

Northern National

Ok, so I saw a talented band on Kickstarter one evening that offered a cover song reward.  After backing them, I had a really negative experience with them.  If you're friends with me on Facebook I can share more details with you there, but for now all I'm sharing publicly is included in a post on my personal blog. (Spintown)  I won't be linking to any Northern National social media or anything...I don't really feel like promoting them more than I already am.

Of all the music projects I've backed over the years on Kickstarter (and there have been A LOT), this was the most unprofessional group of them all.

Forlorn Strangers

Another Kickstarter cover!  I found the Forlorn Strangers one night sifting through Kickstarter projects.  They seemed like good people, had a good sound, offered a cover song reward, and there was a banjo in their Kickstarter profile photo...it was fate. ;p  They did their cover on YouTube, and if you want a copy of the song without the long intro you can get that off Bandcamp.

Chris Shaw

Chris ran a Kickstarter to fund a new EP back in mid 2014, and one of the rewards was a new cover song that he would upload on YouTube & SoundCloud.  I liked his sound, so I backed it to get a new take on our favorite song.  The due date for the cover was November 2014..it's now February 2017.  Those of you who know me, know I'm not one to forget or let things go.  So eventually after a handful of e-mails over a span of 2 years a MP3 of "Today's The Day" ended up in my e-mail inbox late in 2016.  He let me know the YouTube version wasn't going to happen, and to his credit he offered to refund my money.  I declined to take a refund because I mainly wanted to hear the cover & in the end I got what I wanted.  After you listen to his cover, you can check out his links below, and his new music video I embedded here as well.

Crimson Apple

When I search Kickstarter to back musicians I normally look for someone different.  Someone unlike we've heard from so far.  And most importantly I look for talent.  Crimson Apple had both of those things.  Most of the "Today's The Day" covers have been by men.  Even though a few women have covered the song, we haven't had an all girl rock band do it until now!  Not only did they kill it, but they did it on video!

Wil Whalen

Years ago I got whitelisted on Zack Scott's private Minecraft server & ended up making a lot of new gaming friends because of it.  One of the first people to get whitelisted on that server was Wil.  He was never all that active on the server, so we never got to know each other much.  Years after joining the server Wil got involved with a project trying to get Kickstarted.  It looked like a cool project, and even though the project wasn't music related, I knew Wil was a musician.  There was no cover reward mentioned on Kickstarter, so I contacted him through Zack, and we created our own Kickstarter reward via e-mails.  I donated to the project & we got a cool new "Today's The Day" cover.

Lords Of The Trident

When I stumbled onto the Lords Of The Trident's Kickstarter I was blown away by their pitch, and then their music.  It didn't take long for me to decide to back their project at the cover song level.  After their project was funded they did an amazing job of keeping their backers updated throughout the process of recording the album & fulfilling all the rewards.  It's a shame that everyone on Kickstarter doesn't show the same level of appreciation & respect to their fans that this group does.  Mad props to them for that, and for the amazing music they make.

PS:  Bill House did an amazing job with his contribution to the cover as well.

Gemini Blvd.

It's time for a cover that's more than a little different.  The University of Central Florida's award-winning co-ed a cappella group takes on the cult classic.
